Shipping an INEOS Grenadier: Roof Accessories, Carrier Fit and Pickup Prep

Shipping a Grenadier? Learn what to measure, how roof accessories affect carrier fit, and what to confirm before dealership pickup.

Cream INEOS Grenadier with roof-mounted equipment at a dealership

An INEOS Grenadier needs a transport quote that describes the vehicle as it will actually travel. A roof rack, awning, larger tires or other fitted equipment can change the space it needs on a trailer. Before booking, send current photos and the overall dimensions to your transport coordinator so the carrier can assess the complete vehicle.

The pickup photos accompanying this guide were taken in West Valley City, Utah, on October 12, 2026. They show a cream Grenadier with equipment mounted along the roofline. Those visible details illustrate why a make-and-model entry alone is not enough for every SUV shipment.

Measure the Grenadier with its accessories installed

Use the exact model year and configuration when checking specifications. INEOS provides model-year handbooks through its US documentation library. Its Station Wagon information also describes roof racks and accessory options. Published specifications are a starting point; they do not replace measurements of a modified vehicle.

    • Height: measure from level ground to the highest installed item in its secured travel position.
    • Width: include equipment extending beyond the body. Tell the coordinator whether mirrors or accessories can fold safely.
    • Length: identify rear-mounted carriers, spare-wheel attachments or other projections.
    • Weight: disclose permanent equipment and any cargo you intend to leave inside. Ask what is permitted before loading it.

A useful photo set includes front, rear and both sides, plus a close-up of anything that extends above or beyond the vehicle. The carrier should confirm fit before dispatch. A quoted SUV category does not guarantee that every trailer can accommodate every accessory combination.

    Open or enclosed transport?

Open transport carries the vehicle on an exposed trailer. It can be a practical option when the assigned carrier confirms that the vehicle fits and the owner accepts exposure to weather and road conditions. Enclosed transport adds a covered trailer, but its door opening, internal clearance and loading equipment still need to suit the Grenadier.

Discuss the vehicle's value, finish, accessories and your preferences when comparing quotes. Do not assume enclosed means unlimited height or that a rugged off-road vehicle needs no transport preparation. For the broader comparison, read our open versus enclosed guide.

Prepare roof equipment for the handover

List every roof-mounted item, including racks, awnings, tents and cargo boxes. Ask the carrier which items can remain installed and which must be removed. Follow the equipment manufacturer's instructions for closing and securing accessories; do not rely on a transport booking to confirm that a mount is sound.

Remove loose outdoor gear and valuables. Discuss spare fuel containers or other potentially hazardous items with the transporter before pickup rather than leaving them inside. Tell the coordinator about leaks, a weak battery, warning lights or any problem affecting starting, rolling, steering or braking. Loading and securement should follow the vehicle manufacturer's instructions and the carrier's equipment requirements.

Coordinate a dealership pickup before sending the truck

Ask the dealership to confirm that payment, any required inspection or accessory installation, and its release process are complete. Give your coordinator a named contact, direct phone number, collection address and vehicle-release hours. Sales opening hours may differ from the hours when staff can hand over a vehicle.

If you cannot attend, arrange for an authorized person to participate in the pickup inspection and obtain copies of the condition report and photographs. Include the roof equipment, wheels, glass, bumpers and existing marks. At delivery, compare the vehicle with the pickup record, document any concerns and follow the carrier's written reporting process.

    What determines the shipping quote?

Ask for a quote using the pickup and delivery ZIP codes, earliest ready date, operating condition, actual dimensions and preferred transport type. Carrier availability, the route and special loading requirements all matter. Your coordinator can then confirm the available options for your specific shipment.

Caravan Transport is an auto transport brokerage: we arrange transportation with a carrier. For help planning your Grenadier move, request a quote and include the accessory details. If you are purchasing from a distant seller, our dealer auto transport page covers pickup and customer delivery services.

    Frequently asked questions

Can a Grenadier ship with a roof rack or awning?
Possibly. Send photos, dimensions and accessory details before booking. The assigned carrier must confirm fit and whether the equipment can remain installed and secured for transport.
Does an INEOS Grenadier require enclosed transport?
Not automatically. The choice depends on vehicle fit, available equipment and the owner’s protection preferences. An enclosed trailer also needs sufficient entry and interior clearance.
Can you quote shipping from the model name alone?
A model name is a starting point. A useful quote also needs the route, ready date, operating condition and details of equipment that changes the vehicle’s dimensions or loading requirements.
